Christie’s replaced the director in Russia

Guy Vizi who will replace on Matthew Stevenson's this post becomes the new director of representation of Christie's in Russia. As it is reported in the press release which has arrived in "Lentu.Ra", Stevenson it was appointed the director for strategic development of Christie's in Europe, in the Middle East, Russia and India.


Duties of Vizi include program development on works with clients; also it should coordinate interaction with various cultural institutions and certain representatives of art community. Besides, the new director will be engaged in development of an educational program of Christie's in Russia.

Guy Vizi graduated from Saint-Endryussky University and received degree of the master in the field of history of arts. Now it studies Russian in the Moscow State University of a name of Lomonosov. Earlier to the Visa studied Arab Sayfi at University in Beirut. It is known that the new director of Christie's in Russia is the professional musician – he blows the trumpet. Since 2010 Vizi also is engaged in art business in Dubai.

The Russian representation of the auction house of Christie's started to work in 1994. In 2010 of Christie's opened in Moscow office. In 2011 the number of buyers of Christie's from Russia and CIS countries increased by 16 percent in comparison with an indicator of 2010. The proceeds of the auction house from sales for last year made 5,7 billion dollars.
